Famous Couples – Quick Group Pairing exercise
Write the names of Famous Couples on index cards (one name per card). An example would be, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Shuffle the cards and then hand a card to each participant in the training group. Instruct participants to walk around the room to look for the other half of their “famous couple”. As they look for their “partner” they should introduce themselves (their real name) to other participants and then determine if the other person is their partner or not.
Once everyone has found their partner, they should rearrange their seating so that they are seated next to their partner. To extend the exercise, partners can spend 5 minutes learning about their partner and then introducing their partner to the entire group. The Couple cards can be used later in the training session to create new pairs if desired.
